Analog Signal Conditioner for Strain Gauge Load Cells
The SCAIME CPJ / CPJ2S is an analog signal conditioner that converts the output from up to four 350 Ω strain gauge load cells, connected in parallel through an ALCJB junction box, into a clean, usable voltage or current signal for control or display equipment. It supports both 4-wire and 6-wire sensors, selected by jumper.
Available as a DIN rail module, an IP65-rated housing, or a standalone board, the CPJ delivers simultaneous voltage output (±10 VDC or 0–10 VDC) and current output (4–20 mA), with Class 0.05% accuracy and a shunt calibration push button that lets installers set span without needing a calibrated test load. Its span is adjustable from 0.15 to 12 mV/V, with selectable 3, 5, or 10 VDC sensor excitation, and a jumper-selectable 10 Hz second-order low-pass filter to reject vibration noise from the structure.
The CPJ2S variant adds two configurable set points on opto-isolated relays, with adjustable hysteresis, holding time, selectable logic, and a latch function, letting it drive alarms or control outputs directly from the weighing signal without extra hardware. This makes the CPJ2S well suited to tank and silo weighing, load limiting, and overload detection applications where an on/off trigger is needed alongside the analog output.
